CHNC challenge extra for December 2015

Christmas celebrations will be over by the time this challenge has ended - that doesn't seem possible, does it? I expect many crafters have still got creations that need to be made and I hope you will link and share them with us here. Or perhaps you made some creations earlier on, but didn't get round to showing them.

We wish you all a very Happy Christmas

DT call
Our current DT signed up for six months till December 2015, but I'm pleased to say that most will be staying on for the next six months from January through to June 2016. At least one will sadly be leaving, so I will be looking for at least one crafter to join us on the Design Team for January to June 2016. If you would like to be considered, please put DT after your name when you link your design - you only need to do this once, please. This will be a commitment to make at least one Christmas design each month using a Bugaboo Stamps image, with the option of supplying any festive design for mid-month. Another important part of the commitment is to be able to comment on an allocated number of entries - as regulars will know, we do have a lot of entries, so, please, only apply if you are willing and able to make the commitment to comment.

The DT call will be closed by 10 December to enable those chosen to be prepared to be ready with their designs for the January challenge. Don't forget, just add DT after your name for your linky entry if you wish to be considered.

Everything That You Ever Wanted to Know About Bugaboo Stamps: A Short Essay

That was two years ago. Today Bugaboo Stamps is one of the leading companies in digital images, and we're still growing!  From seriously snarky to sugary sweet to sublimely soulful all the way over to the other side of the super sexy spectrum, you're bound to find all that you need and more to create your paper projects.  Jodie works very hard to provide New Releases and Freebies every week!
If your taste runs to rubber (and you know who you are), you can find Bugaboo Stamps   at Totally Stampalicious. And finally, join the Bugaboo Stamps DT for weekly challenges at Catch the Bug

Corals, hot pinks and ruby reds are the flavours of the season. Pinks are ultra-feminine and neon pinks bring an instant glam to your face. They also work well for daytime functions. Outline your lips first and then fill your lips to hold the colour for a longer period. Try Tango Pink, Orchid Pink, Tickle Me Pink and Pure Coral from the 'Take Me As I Am' range.
If 'red' is calling the shots on your D-day outfit, try these useful tips that make a red lipper totally wearable. Base your face with a high-coverage

RADLANT BRIDES BEAUTY TIPS

Every girl wants a healthy glow on her face on her wedding. Since Indian weddings are a long affair and invo ve a lot of running around and stress, it is always advisable to start your skincare routine at least six weeks before D-day. Further, if you have any specific skin issues (such as acne, rosacea, eczema or allergies) try to giVE yourself at least three months before the wedding to sort out any problems.
For starters, try to follow a disciplined cleanser -toner moisturiser regime. Makeup looks better on healthy and hydrated skin, so the key is beauty from the inside out. Moreover, you can get away with minimal makeup, which is a trend catching on among Asian brides.
If you are confused about what products are best for your skin, makeover expert Aashmeen Munjaal suggests, "You should get your skin and hair analysed before starting out on your pre-bridal regime. Every person's skin and hair has its own requirement; customise your beauty routine accordingly" .
Since the stress level is high during these days, you need to chart your diet regime as well. Besides having plenty of sleep and aiming for about six glasses of water a day, Munjaal adds, "We recommend a colourful diet to our clients. We incorporate a lot of veggies rich in nutrients and vitamins that help build a balanced circle of diet, which enhances blood circulation and pumps the skin by opening blood cells to get that radiant glow. You can go for alternate-days colour diet. For instance, take a lot of white products in your white diet like curd, egg, milk, cream, et cetera, and the next day, have a red diet, which comprises carrot, tomato, red meat, juices, et cetera."
To achieve flawless skin, go for Intraceuticals Rejuvenate Medi-Spa Treatments, which are quite famous among celebrities; get one six weeks before the wedding and the last one a day or two before the wedding. The treatment infuses the skin with moisture, binding hyaluronic acid, vitamins, and antioxidants into the skin via topical hyperbaric oxygen. Basically, the treatment involves a thin silver wand  similar to an airbrush makeup wand - that gently sprays a cocktail of pure oxygen and Intraceuticals vitamin, antioxidant, moisture-rich serum over the face. The gentle spray of oxygen helps push the serum deep into the skin's pores.
You can also go for 24-karat Golden Spoon available at Aashmeen Munjaal's StarSalon to get the radiant glow on your face. If you are a DYI bride, then Tisha Kapur Khurana,
beauty expert at Bottega Di Lungavita, suggests home remedies that work well for most women. "Cut an avocado, spoon out one half and mash it up in a bowl. Avocados offer a good source of biotin, which helps prevent dry skin. Add a teaspoon of honey and mix in to the bowl. Honey contains mild alpha hydroxy acid, which loosens the bonds between dead skin cells, making it a great exfoliant. Add a teaspoon of plain Greek yogurt. Full-fat Greek yogurt is packed with a natural source of proteins, vitamins and minerals to nourish parched skin."
For your hair, you can go for organic oxygen-mist hair treatment, which is very good for every kind of hair. So let your hair breathe and look healthy with this therapy.
The pre-bridal routine is incomplete without luxurious spa pampering. Ananda in the Himalayas offers the Radiance Ritual for Brides-to-Be. The surreal journey lasts for three days, beginning with a fragrant Himalayan wild rose salt scrub to exfoliate, soothe and balance, followed by a calming aromatherapy massage. The next day, Ananda's 'Energising Earth Wrap', made using pure earth laden with healing minerals, will help you feel revived, nurtured and rejuvenated.
This is followed by a nourishing 'Aroma Hot Oil' hair treatment. The third day begins with your feet cocooned in a nourishing peppermint lotion whilst your therapist performs Ananda's special foot reflexology.
The night before the wedding make sure you get sound sleep and relax your mind. On D-day, cleanse and moisturise your skin using your usual products before the makeup artist arrives. Enjoy the best moments of your life with your family, with your glow unmatched!

The Nosey Affair

In Indian culture, the nose is believed to have romantic, sexual as well as emotional connotations. The nose ring, hence becomes a part of customs and traditional.
Amongst all the jewellery and adornments for various parts of the body; e nasal ornaments are believed to be the most alluring and seductive. Traditionally speaking, a nath is also the symbol of a bride's virginity. It is believed that the oldest vedic script that refers to medicine. the Ayurveda, associates nasal piercing with female reproductive organs. Apparently, piercing the nose to wear nose studs or rings protects the women from myriad nasal infections as well. This makes nath a special and significant bridal ornament.
Almost always made of gold. which is considered the purest metal, the nath is usually worn on the left nostril. A bridal nath is usually worn with gold chain, which is either attached to a lock of hair behind the left ear, or to a part of the left earring.

Traditionally Fashionable
Apart from wedding. other family celebrations such as the birth of a child. religious occasions and the celebration of other festivals also merits the wearing of the nath by the marned women in the family_ A stud which is simply called a phul or flower or a ring which is actually the nath are the two forms that the nose ornament is worn in.
Traditions apart, the B-town has also led to a surge in its popularity. A-list actors Son am Kapoor and Vidya Balan wowed fans with their nose rings at the Cannes film festival.

Actress Sonakshi Sinha had her nose pierced when she was 16; she says her nasal jewellery gives her a des; look. "I have worn a nose ornament right from my first film (Dabangg) and I keep altering from a nose ring to a stud," says Sinha. Min Lootera also, I have used a very traditional BengaJilooking nose stud in the shape of a flower. It's a hassle-free accessory and is also the mark of an Indian woman, she adds.

Pankaj Surana attained fame and glory when Vidya Balan wore a nath deSigned by him at Cannes. He says, "Even though India is the one country in the world that has such a rich tradition of jewellery, it is the nath that establishes your identity as an Indian.

Myriad forms of naths

Nasal ornaments are available in a variety of designs and shapes - from delicate jewelled studs that are placed just on the curve of the nostril, or large hoops that encircle the cheek with dainty charms or pendants or just pearls dangling in a way that they just touch the upper lip line.

The type of nose ring is determined by the area to be adorned. If it is the nostril, studs are common; if it is the septum, a circular barbell is worn: and if it is the bridge of the nose between the eyes, a straight barbell adorns the nose. The nostril rings also vie for attention. Some of them are so heavily ornamented with pearls and precious stones that they have to be supported by fine chains, which are attached to the hair. The bulak in Madhya Pradesh is a perfect example of this.
In diverse states of India this jewel is made differently. The Maharastrians wear a larger mango-shaped nose ring, with heavy peart decorated with, even that hangs up to the chin! The Karwari Nath is a culturaJ emblem belonging to the Maharashtrian border which is close to Karnataka. Th is piece is studded with pearls called Basra Mati which are as beautiful as rare to find.

The nose ornaments of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka are caJled mukhuttis and the ones worn by brides during a vivaah have ornate, traditional designs imitating the lotus flower and the graceful swan. Though a lotus is the most favoured flower, due to its association with Goddess Lakshmi and prosperity. other floral motifs are popular too. Pullakku is a type of nose ring seen mostty in Malayali brides. This is basically the pendant suspended from the partition of the nostrils - the portion extending from the septum. The pul/aku is similar to the n%k of Bengal in that it is meant to be worn on the septum.
The Punjabi bride wears the shikarpuri nath - a gold ring strung with as many as 20 to 25 motifs or charms - including tiny birds, mangoes, leaves, florets. pearls and so on.
Women in Rajasthan wear the nemun, which is a small gold or silver ring with precious stones and the bneuny has a slightly different floral design. The laung is a traditionaJ and common nose stud that is shaped like a clove, while a latkan is a small pendant suspended between the nostrils, because of its pendulous character. This may also take the form of a small-semi-circular ring with delicate tassels hanging from the base. "The circular design of a Rajasthani nose ring signifies the sun and the hemispherical design is representative of the moon tit says the diva of designer jewellery, Asha KamaJ Modi.

In Uttar Pradesh the nath is adorned with two pearls and a dangling bead to signify multitude and prosperity. As in most parts of India, the nath is a gift from the maternal uncle of the bride.
"The most majestic of all is of course the Chamba nathlJ, says Modi. Traditionally, the hill folk of Himachal use a plethora of pearls and other coloured beads in the designs. Some are also strung with paisley or leaf motifs. The average diameter of each of these huge nose rings is about 10 centimeters. "The minimum weight of each of these enormous nose rings is about 10-15 grams, though it goes up according to the socia-economic status of the brides," adds Modi.

Whether the design is traditional or contemporary, it is a definite truth that a nose ring adds that regal aura to any bride's visage.
KEEP MIND
While getting the nose pierced, care should be taken to ensure that no passing nerve is wounded or hanned in any way. This is primarily the reason why experienced goldsmrths are relied upon for pierdng the nose or ear. These professionals can know, simply by touching the skin, whether or not any nerve passes through the specific portion to be pierced.

With the trend of nail art catching on at weddings these services are an instant hit with the brides to be, who prefer to opt for a different nail art design for every function of theirs. These extensions are extremely promising and last for as long as a month. "Popping colours like neon's, orange and hot pinks along with diamond and glitter nail extensions are in vogue with brides nowadays as it tends to their heavy bridal outfits. Caviar and Velvet nail-art are also catching on but they are used mostly by youngsters for parties and night outs," says Farheen. We work around their design and give them the look they desire and sometimes when necessary we pitch in our suggestions so as to make the design more feasible and attractive for the client," she continues.

The process of applying the nail extensions lasts for an hour. It starts with the application of acrylic powder on the nail and the tips to give it a long and neat finish. The nail paint is then filled in and then the designing is done. Another layer of transparent polish is then applied as the final coat for the design. This procedure is so thorough and precise that the extensions last for a month and half after
each session, and the best part is that the nails do not chip or peel away. For the upcoming festive celebrations. Nailspa Experience has introduced interesting mix of packages in nail art like magnetic nail polish, metallic enamels.
