Description :
Initially distributed in 1979, Air terminal Building by Ashford and Wright, has turned into an exemplary course book in the training of airplane terminal architects and transportation organizers. In the course of recent years, development of new air terminals in the US has melted away as development abroad blasted. This new version of Airplane terminal Building will react to this move in the development of air terminals comprehensively, with an emphasis on the part of the Universal Common Flight Association (ICAO), while as yet giving the best practices and tried essentials that have made the book fruitful for more than 30 years.

Product Description :
From the Back Cover:
The fully updated and revised classic on airport planning, design, and development

Air transportation is experiencing extraordinary growth, outstripping the capacity of airport and air traffic control systems, increasing congestion and delay, and creating inconvenience, cost hikes, and safety concerns for flyers. As the construction of new airports becomes more global, so too does the education, training, and employment of airport engineers, planners, and developers.

Airport Engineering is fully revised and updated to provide the most uptodate engineering and design methods on the topic. Coverage includes drainage and pavement design, airside layout, landside access design, passenger and cargo facilities, and terminal design, as well as special coverage on airport master and system planning. This new edition:

Includes seven new chapters covering policy and regulations, economics, emergency planning, modeling and simulations, airportdesign development process, and the future of the airport
Delivers new information on airspace planning and operations, and the development of multimodel airport terminals
Offers fresh insight on international standards by ICAO, in addition to existing coverage of FAA protocols
Is updated to account for changes to airport security and screening following the formation of the TSA in the United States following 9/11
Includes latest airport planning and management practices compiled in the TRB Airport Cooperative Research Program (ACRP)
Features a new support website that provides links to online resources and standards for easy reference, in addition to an instructor's manual with assignments and discussion questions

Drawing from literature published by the Federal Aviation Administration, as well as publications from other governmental agencies and various aircraft manufacturers, airline companies, and industry organizations, Airport Engineering is a comprehensive and convenient onevolume guide to the state of the art in airport planning and design.
