Premam Movie Actress Anupama Parameshwaran
Exclusive Interview.
Meet ' Premam' girl
Anupama Parmeshwaran, basking in the
success of her debut movie. Her smashing smile and long curly locks have been the talk of the town for a while. A student of CMS College, Kottayam, her life took an up swing after the release of Premam. Here, she talks about her experiences with the movie and also about her Fashion.
Her trendy locks..
First time the director saw me at the audition, he Wondered what to do with my hair. They tried different hairstyles, but nothing worked out. Then, he saw one of my photos posted In a social ne tworking site and suggested me to do the same for the character. My hairstyle was purely directors decision, I didnt have any role in it. I used to roam around spotting side bun on the sets which caught the makers attention and decided to try it out for the seenes. Even at the shooting set everyone, including the cinematographer used to mention that my hair is my plus point. But for me, getting comments about my locks is nothing new when I went to the shooting set, my tresses where the centre of all attraction Even at college people often play with my hair by thromng paper balls or inserting pen in it
Tough to handle..
My hair is attention grabbing. In the presence of sunlight it weaves magic, which was of course proven in Premam itself. But maintaining curly hair is a very difficult task and because I am spotting loose hair in the movie, the difficulty level increased much more during the shooting. My hairstyle used to be ruined almost all the time, how much care you take and no matter how patient you are. When you think you just set your hair right, you see a strand slowly protruding. Actually, beauty of the character lies in the picturization. The way the character was picturized and portrayed, caught the attention of the audience.
Hair care tips
I don't follow any daily regime religiously as I don't like to fuss over my hair too much. If its healthy and beautiful , its taking care of itself anyway. Instead of using a hair dryer, I let my hair dry naturally so that it adds a nice bounce and a natural fall. Occasionally, to satisfy my mother, I do oil massage . Also detangling hair with wide tooth comb and tying it up properly can prevent it from breakage.
Director's art
When my kith and kin came to know that I am going to commit this movie, they remarked it as a good team. The director of the movie Alphonse Puthren, is a very intelligent, professional and dedicated director. After watching his album ' Yuvh' and songs in Neram', I knew that he was gonna make a magic somewhere. The way he shot things, his mode of work and his dedication are the reasons behind his success. He was very planned and even had a clear idea about what was going to happen in the very next moment. Even my family felt really comfortable after talking to him and that's why they allowed me to take up the project. Standing in our shoes he explains about the scene and he knows how to get the desired result without giving us much stress. lf i could portray the role successfully, the credit goes to the director who helped me to get in to the skin of the character.
The suspense element
Everything was planned by the director. There were only five sets of posters for promotion that too without a trailer, and all those things turned out into an added advantage. Reports, posters and the songs all projected Mary. Malar and CIelin were the magical treat given to the audience. My character had very little to do in had movie, but the public in she had w as bey and all expectation. Things w ere going at the edge of over expectation. The show s I had done, the programmes 1 had attended were not done by my personal interest , but to keep the suspense element, in fact.
We all knew that it was gonna be a good movie but never expected the kind of response we had from people.
Team effort
I don't think the movie really has a big story line. The soul of the movie lies in its editing, direction and cinematography. Premam team was really supportive and very friendly throughout the shooting. A major portion of the day we had fun among ourselves and shooting took place for rest of the time. There were so many unexpected scenes. I was there only for few days as I had very less to do in the movie. The picturization of song' Aluvapuzhayude theerathu' is an example. Most of the things in my case happened like that. My main attraction,as a girl on the sets was Nivin Pauly. First time I saw him during the audition I took a selfee with him thinking that I might not see him again. Through out the shooting, he never made me feel that he is a star. After going to the set I came to know that Anwar Rasheed is the producer and I felt it nothing less than A Jackpot.
Though I didn't have combination scenes with the other two actresses, Sai Pallavi and Madonna Sebastian, we all shared a good relationship. Sai Pallavi is like my sister who guides me and gives suggestions.
Social networks
Social networks are away of communicating with the people out there , where people recognize us and play a great role in an actors / actresss career development. People can openly criticize and make suggestions. Having said that Social networks also have a negative shade because fake comments can mislead us and it can even lead to depression. At First I felt very low reading the negative comments , but gradually recognized that there are two types of people , one who criticizes me blindly and the one who make me understand the reason behind those criticism. Media can be helpful and at the same time it can also be harmful . You should know how to handle it neatly and properly.
Controversy
During an interview with John Brittas, my dear friend and costar Nivin Pauly shot that question, but it answer to it turned out into a controversy. He wanted to know whether 1 will cut my hair if any prominent director wanted me to do so for a good role. Vinay Fort suggested it as say,Mani Ratnam. I said No , as it was a fun session and my answer was also expected to be in such away. I had to face a lot of criticism through online platforms projecting me as imperious, but the fact was, what I originally intended was misinterpreted .
Fashion to me..
I love to be simple. My simplicity is the fashion That I own. Rather than having a perfect look I like to spot a little messy look. lam most comfortable in casuals like denims and tops, especially light colour tops. Instead of searching for a particular brand my priority is to buy what that caputure your heart. But I hate the tedious process of shopping. Dad selects tops for me , he knows what suits me better and what doesn't. N ow things have changed a little bit. You should be careful while stepping out. For functions, at the eleventh hour I make it up somehow.
I am not an ultra modern kind of person. Being glamorous depends on the context in which the term is used. For each and every person the term glamorous is different. If wearing sleeveless is a kind of exposing, then I may do that. I have my family and I will not do those things that can affect their values and etiquettes.
Make-up? A big No
As I said earlier, I am a person who believes in keeping everything simple. I don't use any makeup. There were days when I had gone to college just by washing my face with cold water. Even I don't prefer ear rings. May be because of the influence from educational institutions and the situations I had gone through. My mother also don't care about such things beyond an extent. But now I have become a little more conscious about my looks when I step out. In the movie I haven't done any make up . I Was not even allowed to thread my eyebrows or use sun screen during the shoot.
Enjoying the attention..
Yea, I am enjoying the fame. After the success of Premam people address me with hit dialogues from the movie. The consideration, care and love you get from people is overwhelming and that makes you feel something extra ordinary. Also, there are some problems that come with the parcel of being famous like lack of privacy and a sense of responsibility. But one must be really lucky to be part of a movie like ' Premam'. So i don't mind missing myself a little.
